Serbian language is the official language of Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina (together with Bosnian and Croatian). Apart from it, it is a minority language, among others, in Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia (FYROM) and in Hungary. Altogether it is used by about 9 mln people. It belongs to a South Slavic language family and it is one of literary standards of Shtokavian dialect, used in Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro. Serbian uses two alphabets - Cyrillic and Latin, though Cyrillic formally is the primary alphabet.
